South Carolina has added population quickly, and the coastal counties have added it fastest.
Charleston, Mount Pleasant, and the Grand Strand keep absorbing new residents and seasonal visitors, which raises imaging demand in markets that were mid-size a decade ago. Centers there are scaling volume faster than they can recruit against Lowcountry salary expectations.
The Pee Dee and the rural Midlands have the opposite problem. Stable or declining population, a hospital base under real financial pressure, and no plausible path to a full-time supervising physician on payroll against the contrast volume those sites actually run.
Both situations end the same way for a patient who needs contrast: the study waits for someone to be available.
Virtual contrast supervision works for both. A growing coastal center adds contrast capacity without adding headcount. A rural Pee Dee site gets physician availability it could never justify hiring for.
ContrastConnect covers imaging centers across the Lowcountry, the Upstate, the Midlands, the Grand Strand, and the Pee Dee — including Charleston, Columbia, North Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Rock Hill, Greenville, Summerville, Sumter, Hilton Head Island, Florence, Spartanburg, and Myrtle Beach.
